Roger Mayweather on Adrien Broner: ‘He ain’t no motherf—ing Floyd Mayweather’ (Video)
Adrien Broner openly admits he is trying to model himself after Floyd Mayweather Jr. Like Floyd, Broner tries to be flashy and talks as much trash as possible so people are aware of him and will pay to watch him fight. As we saw from Broner’s loss over the weekend during which he humped Marcos Maidana and gave us a flop for the ages, he is far from being anywhere close to the fighter Mayweather is.
Roger Mayweather, Floyd’s uncle and one of his trainers, made it clear that he is certain Broner will never be Floyd when he was recently asked about the Broner-Maidana fight. Roger’s rant was pretty entertaining, but beware that it contains a lot of salty language.
In Roger’s opinion, people don’t hate on Broner because he talked about stealing someone’s girlfriend or leaked a disgusting sex tape of himself — they hate on him because he can’t live up to the hype.
“The motherf—er wasn’t what he was anyway,” Roger said. “He wasn’t what people thought he was. They thought he was the next Floyd Mayweather. Now he got his ass whooped and people are saying, ‘This motherf—er wasn’t no Floyd.’ Hell no goddamn way he is.”
If you asked Floyd about Broner, he would probably have a lot nicer things to say about him than his uncle did. Broner looks up to Floyd as a brother and mentor and Floyd tweeted support of Broner after he lost to Maidana by unanimous decision. Still, Roger is right. Broner is not and probably never will be Floyd.
