Roger Mayweather: Floyd Will Probably Fight by End of Summer

While Manny Pacquiao is fighting Shane Mosley next weekend and already making plans to fight Juan Manuel Marquez, Floyd Mayweather Jr. has remained retired. Floyd however was present ringside for the Victor Ortiz-Andre Berto fight suggesting he was doing some scouting. Making it sound even more likely that Floyd will be returning to the ring is what his uncle Roger Mayweather said in an interview with Da Truth Boxing.

In the interview, which takes place in a casual setting on the couch, Mayweather (who also serves as Floyd’s trainer) says his nephew will likely fight by the end of the summer. He didn’t mention opponents but suggested it would be a matter of money (no surprise for Floyd, of course). Roger said that Floyd plays basketball and is an athlete, so getting into shape shouldn’t be a problem. He also discussed the Mosley-Pacquiao fight and repeated the notion that Mosley should be drug tested like he was for his bout with Floyd. He also questioned Manny Pacquiao being scared of needles by pointing out all the tattoos he has.

The interview features a ton of NSFW language and Roger is less intelligible than Brad Pitt in Snatch, so I won’t bother posting it. If you want to check out the video, head over to our friends at Black Sports Online who brought the video to our attention.
