Cameron Boozer buffed up his NBA resume anew on Monday with a sterling performance at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.
With the Syracuse Orange in town, Boozer led the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils to a walk-in-a-park 101-64 win, as the talented freshman forward put up 22 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field with 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes.
Expected to be taken early at the 2026 NBA Draft, Boozer’s feat against Syracuse puts him in a rare Division I club of true freshmen who have led their teams in points and rebounds in a game at least 11 times over the last three decades.
Via OptaSTATS: “Tonight is the 11th time Cameron Boozer has led both teams in points and total rebounds outright in a game. The only DI true freshmen in the last 30 years to do so in more games are Michael Beasley (18 times in 2007-08) and Kevin Durant (12 times in 2006-07).”
Boozer is indeed putting together another one of those incredible Duke freshman seasons, but the Blue Devils need more from him if they are to end their NCAA title drought this season. Plus, delivering a title to Durham before leaving the NBA would further cement his legacy in Duke basketball history.
On the season, Boozer is averaging 22.8 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
