John Calipari’s new project: Create virtual reality experience for Kentucky fans
John Calipari is always at the forefront of the college basketball world, and he’s constantly looking for ways to help him and his program remain at the top.
We saw an example of that when Kentucky unveiled its private, luxury housing for athletes that includes a chef, flat screen TVs, and every luxurious amenity imaginable. Cal’s latest project is a venture that would bring a virtual reality experience to Wildcats fans through a smart audio headphone by Ceeks.com.
“I’m always looking for what’s next,” Calipari says in a video interview with Bloomberg. “In the next ten years, it’s going to change how do things, and I want to be on the front edge with my program.”
The headphone would potentially allow fans to watch games from Calipari’s perspective. To get an understanding of what they’re going for, think about how things looked in the future in “Back to the Future Part II.”
Are you ready for the virtual reality experience? It’s probably coming in the next five to ten years. Just make sure you’re still visiting Larry Brown Sports when that time comes.
