Sean Miller says he is not a candidate for Pitt head coaching job
The University of Pittsburgh may have interest in Sean Miller becoming the school’s next men’s basketball coach, but apparently that interest is not mutual.
On Wednesday, Miller released a statement saying he is not a candidate for the Pitt job.

A previous report claimed Miller had interest in the job and had discussed it with Pitt athletic director Heather Lyke, but the 49-year-old is staying at Arizona. Pitt is said to have offered Dan Hurley a hefty salary, though there have been indications that the Rhode Island coach will either stay put or take the UConn job.
Last month, ESPN reported that Miller was caught on a wiretap discussing paying a top recruit to commit to the University of Arizona. Miller has vehemently denied the allegations and Arizona has stood behind him, and there have since been some major holes poked in ESPN’s report.
Miller’s ninth season with the Wildcats just ended with his No. 4 seed team being blown out by No. 13 seed Buffalo in the first round. The 49-year-old has an overall record of 247-74 at Arizona and has won five Pac-12 championships and made seven NCAA Tournaments. Miller played point guard for Pitt from 1987-1992.
