Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer left the team’s Sugar Bowl loss against Georgia on Wednesday with a possible concussion that has many concerned about his long-term health.
Baylor was down 26-14 in the fourth quarter and had a 3rd-and-12 from their 28. Brewer scrambled to his right and was hit by the sideline, and his head slammed against the turf.

Remember, Brewer also got hurt vs Oklahoma in the BIG12 championship after a hit he took. Brutal. pic.twitter.com/VZYaQXZF73

Brewer looked totally dazed after the collision and was carted off the field.

Many thought that he might have suffered a concussion.
Keep in mind that Brewer was concussed in the Big 12 title game against Oklahoma three and a half weeks ago. Brewer told ESPN that he spent about a week in a dark room after that concussion.

If Brewer was concussed on the play, it would mark his third concussion of the season and fourth of his career.
Due to his concussion history, some began suggesting Brewer retire:
I respect Charlie Brewer and admire his toughness but he's had too many head injuries lately. He should take a long, hard look at his future in football this offseason. Terrific player but you wonder about the young man's long-term health when these hits start to pile up. #Baylor

What we’ve learned about the cumulative effect of multiple concussions is frightening. Former Texas QB David Ash had to make a really tough choice a few years ago. Hoping Charlie Brewer makes the right one for him.

Hate to say it, but Charlie Brewer may need to evaluate whether his football career should be over.
