Zamir White’s college football career is off to an unfortunate start.
The 5-star recruit suffered a torn ACL during the Georgia Bulldogs’ scrimmage on Saturday. Georgia coach Kirby Smart says the injury occurred on a non-contact play while White was covering a punt.
What’s awful is that this is now the second torn ACL for White, who also suffered one in his right knee during a high school game last November.
White, who was looking to play as a true freshman, will likely end up taking a medical redshirt year now. He was competing with sophomore D’Andre Swift and junior Elijah Holyfield for carries in the backfield. The Athletic says the talk around the program is that he had been looking good.
