Jameis Winston looked fat at Florida State pro day
Jameis Winston threw for scouts at Florida State’s pro day on Tuesday, and his performance drew mixed reviews. Naturally, the Twitter world began buzzing as soon as the former Seminoles star took off his shirt for weigh-in.
There have been plenty of questions about Winston’s weight this offseason. A photo surfaced last month that showed him looking pretty overweight, but he supposedly lost 17 pounds preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine. Winston still looks pretty doughy for a soon-to-be professional athlete.

As we mentioned before, quarterbacks don’t exactly need to be the most chiseled guys on the field — especially ones who are primarily pocket passers. That said, no one wants to see Winston go down the JaMarcus Russell path. If he has trouble keeping weight off when he isn’t even 21 yet, he’ll need to have a very strict diet and workout routine going forward.
Winston made some good throws on Tuesday, but he also missed some. ESPN’s Todd McShay said he was “underwhelmed” by the performance. Still, we expect the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to select him with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Jameis makes fat jokes about himself, so we really can’t make fun of him for it that badly.
