Jarvis Landry says he was not taking shot at Patrick Surtain Jr
Jarvis Landry went on Twitter Wednesday to clarify that a tweet he sent earlier in the day was not about a recruit who snubbed his alma mater.
Landry, who attended LSU, sent the following tweet around the time 5-star recruit Patrick Surtain Jr announced he was signing with Alabama over LSU. Many thought Surtain II was a strong possibility to pick LSU.
Here’s the tweet:
You don’t have a plate at this table no more.. Groupie

Word of the tweet got back to Surtain’s father, Patrick, who was a longtime Miami Dolphins cornerback — the same team for whom Landry currently plays.
Surtain told Landry to watch his mouth.
Watch your mouth!!!

Much later in the day, Landry felt the need to address things and sent the following tweet in which he said his original tweet had nothing to do with Surtain.
My quotes weren’t directed to no one… I’m happy for the @patsurtain2 I hope he continues to flourish Be Great young boy…

This National Signing Day drama is serious business. Lots of feelings get hurt when recruits pick one school over another, as we well know.
