UCF’s JJ Worton makes spectacular one-handed TD catch (Video)
No. 17 UCF avoided a major upset on Saturday with a thrilling win on the road against Temple. Had it not been for one of the most amazing touchdown catches of the year by junior wide receiver JJ Worton, the Knights may not have pulled out the victory.
Worton helped tie the game with just over a minute remaining in the fourth quarter when he hauled in an impossible one-handed catch in the back of the end zone. It appeared that UCF quarterback Blake Bortles overthrew his wide open target, but Worton bailed him out by going full extension and somehow securing the pass.
The mind-boggling catch was Worton’s third touchdown of the game. He finished with 10 receptions for 179 yards and three scores. In a season where it feels like we have seen at least one phenomenal one-handed catch per week, Worton’s grab could easily be the best of the year.
