Nick Saban: Dak Prescott is a lot like Tim Tebow, but a good passer
While likely unintentional, Nick Saban may have taken a swipe at Tim Tebow on Monday when discussing Alabama’s upcoming game against Mississippi State.
Saban was speaking to reporters about Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott when he compared Prescott to Tebow. Here’s what Saban said.
Saban: Dak Prescott "reminds you of Tebow in a lot of ways, but is also a very good passer."

Cecil Hurt of The Tuscaloosa News was quick to point out that Saban clearly did not intend to insult Tebow, which I’m sure is true. But it definitely sounds like he was implying that Tebow is not a good passer, which is also true.
As Pete Volk of SB Nation noted, Tebow completed 66.4% of his passes and averaged 9.3 yards per attempt in 55 career games at Florida. He also threw 88 touchdowns and just 16 interceptions. Prescott has completed 59.7% of his passes and has 32 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 22 games. He has averaged 8.2 yards per attempt.
Mississippi State is No. 1 in the nation for a reason, but Prescott has a long way to go before he is in the same class as Tebow (as a college QB, of course). Whether Saban meant to zing Tebow or not, Tebow should use that as motivation in his next … commercial.
