Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa underwent successful surgery after suffering a high ankle sprain on Saturday, but his return is anyone’s guess.
Nick Saban admitted Monday that Tagovailoa has “no real timetable” on his return, and isn’t putting weight on the ankle. The hope is that the QB will be able to begin doing active rehab within ten days, but Saban made no promises.
Saban said Tua Tagovailoa's surgery was successful, but "there's no real timetable for his return."
The expectation is he will be non-weight bearing for several days, and Alabama is hopeful he will be able to do active rehab within 10 days.
"These things are unpredictable."

We already knew that Tagovailoa wouldn’t be playing against Arkansas this week. The Crimson Tide have a bye after that, followed by a huge game against LSU. That’s the one Alabama will want Tagovailoa back for if at all possible, essentially giving him two weeks to get healthy and able to play. It’s not clear how realistic that hope is at this point.
