Tom Brady reportedly helped Michigan flip Bryce Underwood
Tom Brady played a key role in helping Michigan flip top quarterback recruit Bryce Underwood away from LSU, according to a report.
Brady helped make Michigan’s closing argument as the school sought to convince Underwood to decommit from LSU and join them instead, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Brady and Underwood talked via FaceTime several weeks ago and wound up having multiple conversations after that.
According to the report, Brady pledged to be a resource and mentor to Underwood going forward, which was a factor in Underwood’s decision to flip his commitment to Michigan.
Long before he became an NFL legend, Brady was a two-year starter for the Wolverines in 1998 and 1999. He has not always been around the program physically, largely due to his lengthy NFL career, but he is clearly still invested in its success.
There were certainly some other notable names involved in getting Underwood to flip, but Brady counts as the biggest that we know of. Michigan will reap the rewards, as Underwood, the top quarterback in the 2025 class, is the highest-rated recruit the program has ever signed.
