Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz to star in ‘The Expendables 3’
Ronda Rousey has hinted at the possibility of going into movies since last August. UFC President Dana White said he would never stop someone from pursuing new opportunities, but that Rousey is better off waiting until she finishes her fighting career to dip her toes into the acting pool.
Either she is planning to retire soon, or it appears Rousey may not wait for her fighting career to conclude before hitting Hollywood. On Monday, Sylvester Stallone announced that Rousey and Victor Ortiz are slated to star in his next installment of “The Expendables.”

Rousey would not be the first top female fighter to transition from the octagon to the movies, as Gina Carano has already successfully done so. The surprise, however, is that she claimed earlier this year when rumors were circulating about a possible role in “The Hunger Games 2” that she would not get into acting until her fighting career is finished.
The “Expendables” series has brought together some of the most bad-ass athletes, actors and entertainers in the world, so Rousey and Ortiz — a guy who boxed four rounds with a broken jaw — would certainly continue with that theme. If she can make money in movies while remaining focused on her MMA career, I don’t see why Rousey would have a problem. If it affects her training schedule, waiting until she retires from fighting would probably be beneficial.
