Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown would like to see the NFL make one massive change to its schedule in order to accommodate players.

In an interview with DraftKings on Wednesday, Brown said the NFL should eliminate Monday night games, citing the lack of recovery time that players get after playing in them.

“It’s a short week, and right after the game you only get a certain amount of time for your body to recover,” Brown said, as transcribed by Scott Polacek of Bleacher Report. “It speeds up the process, and that adds onto the wear and tear of practice. It gets difficult.”

Few would dispute that Brown is correct about short weeks being a grind, especially for teams like the Eagles that are frequently featured in primetime. However, “Monday Night Football” has been a key part of the league’s broadcast schedule for over 50 years. There is no chance it is going anywhere, especially when the league is only expanding its less-popular Thursday night sibling.

The Eagles are actually playing consecutive Monday games, as they face the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas a week after taking on the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. That said, it will mark Philadelphia’s fourth Monday game of the season, so it’s understandable if Brown is getting a bit tired of it.
