Alshon Jeffery acknowledges he will miss multiple games
The Philadelphia Eagles struggled to score points on Thursday night, and some of that had to do with the rust of playing in the first game of the season. However, the absences of Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery clearly made things more difficult, and the Eagles could be missing both players for several more games.
Jeffery, who had surgery this offseason to repair a torn rotator cuff that he played through during the entire 2017 season, admitted on Thursday that he is still a few weeks away from being cleared.
A few notes from last night: Alshon Jeffery said he has “a couple more visits with the doctor” before he can return. “Some days I feel great, and some days … a shoulder injury is pretty tough,” he said. Asked if he was still a few weeks out, he nodded.

Without Jeffery and Wentz, the Eagles managed a measly 117 passing yards. Fortunately they didn’t need much offense on a night where they executed a trick play to perfection and clawed their way to an 18-12 win, but they’ll need more from Nick Foles and their receiving group going forward.
The Eagles’ next two games are on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and at home against the Indianapolis Colts, so the schedule lines up well to be without two of their most important players. Based on what Jeffery said Thursday and the latest report we heard about Wentz, it sounds like both players are going to miss more time.
