The possibility of the NFL placing Antonio Brown on the commissioner’s exempt list still remains, but early indications are that the star wide receiver will remain eligible to play for at least another week.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that there was no change to Brown’s playing status as of Wednesday morning, which makes it seem likely that he will be eligible to face the New York Jets on Sunday. As Rapoport notes, the NFL typically likes to have the status of players straightened out by the Wednesday before games.
There is no update on the status of #Patriots WR Antonio Brown, I’m told, which means he’s still eligible at this point to play on Sunday. The league often likes to have the status of players clear on Wednesday before the biggest practice day.

Britney Taylor, the woman who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Brown last week, met with the NFL on Monday for 10 hours to discuss the allegations. Brown is expected to sit down with league officials at some point in the near future. If he does end up being placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, the move would probably come after he gets a chance to discuss the situation with the league.
Brown has also been accused of sexual misconduct by a second woman, who chose to remain anonymous and says she has no plans to file charges or a lawsuit. The NFL will likely ask Brown about those allegations as well.
