Authorities investigating death of spectator at Dolphins-Patriots game
A fan at Gillette Stadium died during Sunday night’s game between the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins, and police say the incident is being investigated.
Massachusetts State Police said a man in his 50s had an apparent medical incident midway through the fourth quarter, according to Irene Rotondo of MassLive.com. Paramedics on the scene brought the man to nearby Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass., where he was pronounced dead.
State police detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and the events that led up to it.
The fan who died was once of at least two fans who required medical attention during Sunday’s game. Another fan suffered an apparent cardiac arrest minutes before kickoff but survived.
