Former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus is currently being accused of sexual assault. On Monday, McManus’ camp responded to the allegations.

Two flight attendants accused McManus of sexually assaulting them during the Jaguars’ flight to London for the NFL International Series last September. More details of McManus’ alleged behavior can be found here.

McManus’ attorney Brett R. Gallaway issued a statement labeling the allegations as “absolutely fictitious” and a mere “extortion attempt.”

“To be clear, these are absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false allegations made as part of a campaign to defame and disparage a talented and well-respected NFL player. We intend to aggressively defend Brandon’s rights and integrity and clear his name by showing what these claims truly are — an extortion attempt,” Galloway wrote in the statement.

McManus landed on the Jaguars last season after the Broncos surprisingly cut him before the 2023 campaign. McManus had spent nine seasons with the Broncos and was the team’s primary kicker during the team’s Super Bowl run in the 2015 season.

McManus went 30/37 on field goal attempts for the Jaguars last season. He converted on all 35 of his extra point tries.

In March, McManus signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Washington Commanders.
