Report: Carson Wentz wants to play through back injury
Carson Wentz is a competitor and wants to be on the field as the Philadelphia Eagles wind down their season.
Wentz has a stress fracture in his back, which led him to miss Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams. Nick Foles will continue to start for the Eagles in their Week 16 game.
Wentz wants to play so badly that he apparently saw a doctor for a second opinion on his back, according to NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark. Clark says the specialist agreed with the Eagles that rest is best for the quarterback for now.
Source tells me Carson Wentz really wants to play thru stress fracture and got another opinion on his back with specialist while Eagles were in LA, but that doctor agreed with Eagles that rest is best right now

Wentz has not been placed on injured reserve by the Eagles despite the injury, which will cause him to miss at least two games. They are perhaps content to take things week-by-week for now, even if Wentz playing again this season seems unlikely.
