Davante Adams was thrilled when he was traded to the New York Jets last week, but the star wide receiver did not exactly get off to a great start with his new team.
Adams caught just 3 passes for 30 yards in the Jets’ 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night. That was the second time in two days that Adams lost to the Steelers, as the Las Vegas Raiders fell by a similar 32-13 score to Pittsburgh in Week 6.

At this point, it looks like Adams forced a trade from one bad team and landed with another. Both the Raiders and Jets are now 2-5. Neither team looks like a playoff contender. Adams is probably much happier to be catching passes from Aaron Rodgers than Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell, but will the result be any better in the long run?
Adams forced the Green Bay Packers to trade him in 2021 because he wanted to play with Derek Carr, who was his teammate in college at Fresno State. That lasted one season before the Raiders moved on from Carr. Adams later expressed some regret over the way he handled the situation.
If the Jets don’t show some dramatic improvement from the way they played on Monday night, Adams could quickly wind up regretting his most recent trade demand, too.
