The Philadelphia Eagles made a big move on Wednesday by re-signing one of their core players, but they may have to part ways with another one as a result.
Nigel Bradham, who was arguably the best linebacker in free agency, has agreed to a five-year, $40 million extension with the Eagles. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Philly is now expected to shop Mychal Kendricks in trade talks to get some salary cap relief.
The #Eagles and LB Nigel Bradham agreed to terms on a 5-year deal worth $40M, source said. A clear priority.

The #Eagles keep one of their own, and now they are expected to shop LB Mychal Kendricks, who has a 7.6M cap hit. https://t.co/Q7rG9LhcMi

Bradham recorded 88 total tackles in 15 games for the Eagles last season. He also had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and eight passes defended. He continued to come up big in the postseason, where he had 15 total tackles and a sack in three games.
Kendricks has been with the Eagles for his entire six-year career, but they obviously felt they had to make Bradham their priority. There’s still a chance both could be with the team in 2018.
