The New England Patriots held the Denver Broncos out of the end zone in a dominating defensive performance Sunday, and Emmanuel Sanders contributed very little for his team. He isn’t willing to give his opponent much credit, however.
Sanders, who was primarily covered by Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler, was not impressed with the defensive scheme New England employed.
If you think malcom butler shut me down.. child please!! My 2 year old son Princeton can play Cover 2. Go watch the tape. He know better!

Sour grapes, anyone?
Sanders caught just three passes for 48 yards. The Broncos scored three points total on a day when their defense held the Patriots to just 16, so it’s easy to blame Denver’s offense for the loss.
Butler was an undrafted free agent who became a household name when he made one of the most incredible plays in Super Bowl history. Even if he wasn’t solely responsible for shutting Sanders down, criticizing a defensive scheme that worked to perfection is not a good look for Sanders. If playing zone coverage instead of man-to-man results in the Patriots keeping their opponent out of the end zone, Butler and his teammates will gladly do just that.
