Giants’ scoreboard operator cruelly trolled Philadelphia fans during ‘TNF’

The New York Giants’ scoreboard operator was definitely in his bag during this week’s game.

The Giants hosted the division rival Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. for the Week 6 edition of “Thursday Night Football.” Surprisingly, it was the Giants who cruised to a 34-17 win during the contest.

At one point in the game, the Giants decided to rub some salt in the wound for Philly fans. After the Los Angeles Dodgers-Philadelphia Phillies NLDS game, also on Thursday night, went final, the Giants flashed the score up on the big screen.

The Phillies lost a heartbreaker in extra innings after reliever Orion Kerkering committed a brutal error (video here). With the defeat, the Phillies were officially eliminated from the MLB playoffs by the Dodgers.

In addition to the Phillies getting knocked out and the Eagles later losing to the Giants, the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers also lost 2-1 on Thursday night to the Florida Panthers. Needless to say, it was a no-good, very-bad day for Philadelphia sports fans at large.

The New York area at large no longer has a stake in the MLB postseason since both the Mets and the Yankees have already been eliminated from playoff contention as well. But that did not stop the Giants from kicking Philly fans while they were down on Thursday night (which was fair game considering that the Giants have taken some shots of their own from the Philly side over the last year).
