Hannah Storm, Andrea Kremer to become first female duo to call NFL game

The NFL is expanding its coverage of “Thursday Night Football” to Amazon Prime Video beginning in Week 4, and the duo providing commentary for this week’s game and beyond will be making history.

Amazon announced on Tuesday that longtime journalists Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer will be calling the games for the live stream over the next 11 weeks. Greg Hart, Vice President of Prime Video, noted that the two women will become the first female duo to ever call an NFL game.

“NFL fans will hear history made this season – bringing two female announcers together to call an entire NFL game has never been done before,” Hart said, via BusinessWire.com. “Our customers around the world love to stream football – we are thrilled to have Andrea and Hannah bring their extensive knowledge of the game to fans on Prime Video.”

Storm tweeted out her excitement over the announcement:

Excited to partner with @andrea_kremer for Thursday Night Football on @PrimeVideo. Kicking it off with Vikings at Rams on Prime Video this Thursday night! #TNF https://t.co/7KjsMGwW90

Amazon’s decision to go with Storm and Kremer continues a trend of women taking on more prominent roles in sports broadcasting in recent years. Doris Burke became the first female to serve as a full-time NBA game analyst last year for ESPN, and the network also named a woman a full-time analyst for its “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcast.

The first game Storm and Kremer will call should be a quality matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams, two of the top teams in the NFC.
