John Elway ‘thrilled’ to not have to play against Jamaal Charles anymore
The Broncos bolstered their backfield on Tuesday, which led to John Elway breathing a sigh of relief.
After spending the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs, Jamaal Charles has signed with the division rival Broncos. With Charles having spent his entire career playing in the AFC West, Elway is thankful Charles is now on his side and no longer the opponent.
Excited to have Jamaal Charles join the Broncos. A great addition to our backfield, and we're thrilled we won't have to play against him!

Charles has played 13 games versus the Broncos, his highest total against any team. In those games, he’s amassed 987 yards with an average of 5.31 yards per attempt and seven touchdowns. Back in 2010, Charles set his career-high with 259 rushing yards against Denver. It’s probably a safe bet Elway isn’t the only one in Colorado glad to not have to play against Jamaal Charles anymore.
