Another day, another rental home that Johnny Manziel and his cronies are being accused of trashing.
TMZ reports that the owner of the famous Weidlake mansion, which is a known party house in the Hollywood Hills that has been used in several TV shows, is suing Manziel for missing a rent payment and leaving the home trashed. The house rents for $25,000 per month.
Manziel claims he did nothing wrong and is being dragged into the lawsuit for “obvious reasons.”
“I never rented a house in the hills,” the former Cleveland Browns quarterback told TMZ last week. “I’ve been staying with a friend when I’ve been in L.A. which, as of late, has not been much. This guy is upset with a friend of mine and dragging me into it.”
Manziel may not have been the primary name on the rental agreement, but paperwork provided buy the owner of the mansion shows that the 23-year-old was listed as someone who would be staying there. Manziel claims he only stayed at the home occasionally and never signed anything that would make him liable for missed rent or damages.
This is the second time this year Manziel and his friends have been accused of trashing a rental property in L.A. They reportedly left booze and drugs all over a different house back in April. You can read more details about that incident here.
Manziel, whose alleged heavy college drug use was recently highlighted in a Vanity Fair feature, is currently back at Texas A&M working to complete his degree.
