Julian Edelman reportedly getting healthier, expected to play vs. Bills

Julian Edelman has been dealing with some injuries in recent weeks that clearly limited him in last week’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals, but the star wide receiver is not expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

Edelman will likely play Sunday, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that he is “probably less banged up” this week than he was a week ago.

Edelman is one of the tougher players in the NFL, and it would take a very serious ailment to keep him out of a game as important as the one the New England Patriots have in Week 16. They could clinch the AFC East and move a step closer to a first-round bye in the playoffs with a win over Buffalo.

Some of the recent reports we have heard about Edelman’s knee injury do not sound encouraging, but the Patriots desperately need him on the field given their lack of talent on offense. Depending on how Sunday goes, they may decide to hold him out for precautionary reasons when they close out the regular season next week with a home game against the Miami Dolphins.
