The New York Jets have found a new home for Leonard Williams, but it will not require much of an adjustment for the star defensive lineman.
Williams has been traded to the New York Giants in exchange for a third-round draft pick in 2020 and a fifth-round pick in 2021, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Trade: Jets traded Leonard Williams to Giants for a 3 this year and a 5 in 2021, per source.

More details: The 2021 5th-round pick that the Giants are trading to the Jets for Leonard Williams becomes a 4th-round pick if he signs a contract extension before the start of the league year, per source.
Jets are paying $4 million of Williams’ $6 million salary this season.

There has been talk that the Jets could trade multiple players prior to Tuesday’s deadline, and Williams was known to be one of the veterans they were shopping. The former No. 6 overall pick has never missed a game and has been productive through his first four-plus NFL seasons, but he is making $14.2 million this season and is expected to demand a big contract in free agency next offseason.
Williams has not recorded a sack this year, but he had 17 total in his first four seasons in the league. He should provide the Giants with some much-needed help along their front seven.
