Lions fan goes viral for his awesome costume at Packers game

One Detroit Lions fan embodied the Halloween spirit while attending his team’s Sunday contest against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

The fan, David Bodine, had social media buzzing once he appeared on the FOX broadcast. His moment came after Detroit had 4th-and-1 at Green Bay’s 15 about five minutes into the second half. Lions running back Jahymr Gibbs went virtually untouched as he ran up the gut for a touchdown that put his team up 24-3.

After the Lions scored, FOX’s camera panned toward Bodine, who was wearing a cheeky cheese grater hat. In a sea of Packers fans wearing the iconic cheesehead hat, Bodine was everyone’s worst enemy.

Bodine was soon made aware of his newfound fame. He revealed his identity on X shortly after the game.

“Apparently I’m making the rounds on this app, in case anyone is wondering who the Lions fan in the cheese grater is…,” Bodine captioned his X post.

The Lions put the Packers away early. But that did not spare Detroit from some controversy. Lions safety Brian Branch was ejected in the first half for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers wide receiver Bo Melton.

The Lions’ win over the Packers had massive implications on the NFC North standings. Both teams entered Week 9 on lengthy win streaks but only one was able to keep it alive.

Detroit improved to 7-1, while Green Bay fell to 6-3 after Sunday’s result.
