Report: Marshawn Lynch told friends he is retiring
Marshawn Lynch has reportedly told those close to him that he is calling it a career.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Lynch has informed some people of his plans to retire, and his Seattle Seahawks teammates are trying to get him to reconsider.
Teammates still attempting to change his mind, but Seahawks' RB Marshawn Lynch has told some close to him he plans to retire, per sources.

One of Lynch’s former teammates, who also calls Beast Mode his “best friend,” says it is fair to assume Lynch’s time with the Seahawks has come to an end. Lynch carries a salary cap hit of $11.5 million in 2016 and $12.5 million in 2017, and we can almost guarantee the Seahawks won’t keep him at that price. There would still be plenty of interest in Lynch on the free agent market, but perhaps his body has broken down to the point where he no longer wants to play.
Earlier this week, a reporter asked Lynch if he plans to play next season and he gave a vulgar response (video here). That may have been his official farewell to the media.
