No NFL team was spared from Mel Kiper Jr.’s rage during Saturday’s broadcast of the 2025 NFL Draft.

During the second day of the draft on Friday, Kiper issued a warning to the New Orleans Saints for passing on Shedeur Sanders. A day later, the blast radius of Kiper’s on-air explosion extended to all 32 teams.

The Colorado quarterback finally heard his name called on Day 3 after being taken by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round. Rather than calming down after Sanders was picked, Kiper grew even angrier and repeatedly criticized the NFL’s entire prospect evaluation process.

“The NFL has been clueless for 50 years when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks,” yelled Kiper as part of his emotional rant. “Clueless. They have no idea what they’re doing in terms of evaluating quarterbacks. There’s proof of that. When they say, ‘We know exactly what we’re talking about with quarterbacks.’ They don’t.”

The rest of the panel took turns trying to cool Kiper off, but to no avail. ESPN’s renowned NFL draft expert has advocated strongly for Sanders, whom Kiper believes to be the best QB in his class.

Sanders himself, on the other hand, sounded ready to put the entire draft fiasco behind him. Shedeur spoke to reporters shortly after he was drafted. The Colorado star kept the focus on performing well for the Browns rather than dwelling on the teams that had passed on him.
