MRI confirms Jacoby Brissett has MCL strain, could play Sunday
Jacoby Brissett was forced to leave the Indianapolis Colts’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury, but fortunately all of the news surrounding it has been positive.
Colts head coach Frank Reich said after his team’s tough loss that Brissett likely suffered a knee sprain, and ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that an MRI on Monday confirmed that. The injury is considered minor, and Brissett has a chance to play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Jacoby Brissett MRI on left knee was as hoped for – MCL strain. Chance to play this week vs Miami but nothing definite, per sources.

Brissett went down early in the second quarter after his own teammate fell into him, and the injury initially looked like it could be serious. He was replaced by veteran backup Brian Hoyer, and the Colts could have pulled off the win if not for Adam Vinatieri missing a relatively short field goal.
Brissett has played extremely well for the Colts this season in the wake of Andrew Luck’s abrupt retirement, so his knee injury being minor is a big relief for them.
