Report: Olivier Vernon gets good news on ankle injury
The New York Giants got a bit of a scare from linebacker Olivier Vernon, but the news is ultimately good.
Vernon was carted off during Sunday’s practice with what appeared to be an ankle injury. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, X-rays on that ankle were negative, and Vernon’s injury does not appear to be serious.
I'm told #Giants OLB Olivier Vernon's (ankle) x-ray came back negative, per source.

It’s easy to see why a Vernon injury would have scared the Giants. He has collected 15 sacks in two seasons since moving to New York and is expected to be a big part of their defensive effort once again this season.
Vernon’s problem is the second major scare of the preseason for the Giants, but the other one seems to be working out alright as well.
