Miami-based reporter Sara Cardona appears to have made herself a household name simply by being herself.
Cardona is a sports anchor for NBC 6 South Florida. She covers Miami Dolphins games, and she was in attendance for the team’s “Monday Night Football” game in Week 4 against the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla.
Two days after the Dolphins won that game 27-21, Cardona shared a photo on social media that showed her standing on the field holding a microphone. That photo had been viewed more than 18 million times, liked more than 50,000 times and bookmarked more than 10,000 times as of Monday morning.

Cardona has been with NBC 6 as a bilingual sports reporter and anchor since June 2023, according to her LinkedIn profile. The Middle Tennessee State University graduate previously worked for a couple of other networks and spent some time covering the Florida Gators for CBS 4 in Gainesville.
Cardona was born in Medellín, Colombia, and raised in Nashville, Tenn. She has been covering the Dolphins and other sports for NBC 6 for the last three seasons.
A lot of people were already familiar with Cardona from her work over the past several years, but she now has more fans than ever.
