Robert Griffin III not guaranteed to start in Week 16

Robert Griffin

Robert Griffin III is not guaranteed to retain the starting quarterback job in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Browns are now 0-14 after being trounced by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday 33-13. They only have two chances left to avoid the infamy of becoming the second team in NFL history to go 0-16, and head coach Hue Jackson will try anything to ensure that doesn’t happen. That includes potentially making a change at quarterback.

Jackson said after the loss in Buffalo that he will consider all of his options at quarterback in Week 16.

The Browns host the Chargers in Week 16 and then visit the Steelers in Week 17. With the way they’ve looked all year, there is no reason to believe they’ll miraculously pull out a victory.

Griffin went 17 of 28 for 196 yards and rushed for 48 yards and a score in the loss to Buffalo. It was a respectable game, but that’s not enough to get a win. Josh McCown and Cody Kessler each have thrown for more yards per game, but Kessler hasn’t produced points, and McCown commits too many turnovers. Maybe Jackson will use a mixture of all the players as he tries his hardest to avoid infamy.
