Tom Brady Is So Hard on Receivers Chad Ochocinco Says He’s on Egg Shells

Tom Brady may be an Ugg-wearing, ponytailed dancing quarterback, but he’s also a heck of a competitor. The guy hates to lose and he has a take-charge attitude on the field. It’s that type of approach that has kept Chad Ochocinco in check all season, to the point where the Pats receiver feels like he’s a rookie again.

When asked about the sideline blowup between Brady and offensive coordinator Tom O’Brien (that developed because Brady yelled at Tiquan Underwood), Ocho put it all in perspective.

“That was nothing,” Ochocinco said. “That stuff happens every day. Every … single … day. That’s what it’s like around here. Everybody is pushing for perfection and they’re pushing hard. I’ve never seen anything like it in my whole career. You understand why this team is where it is. … Tom is on you about the littlest things, that you were a step off where you should be or the angle is wrong or whatever it is. Really, he has me walking on eggshells and I haven’t done that since I was a rookie.”

Brady has gone out of his way to publicly support Ochocinco, but that’s probably because he wants to keep his receiver’s confidence up. Chad is fragile, and being publicly criticized would probably crush him. After all, based on those words, you can see how tough things really are for him.
