Trent Williams returned to action on Thursday after missing Washington’s previous three games due to a thumb injury, and the Pro Bowler was forced to leave his team’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys in an ambulance after getting hurt again. Fortunately, the latest injury was not as serious as it seemed.
Redskins head coach Jay Gruden told reporters on Friday that Williams underwent X-rays on his ribs that came back negative.
Jay Gruden said Trent Williams stayed behind in Dallas. Went to the hospital to check out ribs injury and the results came back negative. Not as severe as Chris Thompson. Gonna be sore. See where he's at Monday. #Redskins

Keep in mind that Washington was confident Williams would not have to miss time with the thumb injury he suffered in Week 8, but he ended up undergoing surgery. Hopefully the rib injury is only minor.
Washington has had some terrible injury luck lately, particularly on offense. Williams, wide receiver Jamison Crowder and running back Chris Thompson have all missed time, and we all saw the horrific injury starting quarterback Alex Smith suffered last week.
