Truly unbelievable stat about Jets’ loss to Patriots emerges
The New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots in Week 8 to drop to 2-6. Though the team’s 2-6 record is already tough enough for their fans to swallow, the way the team lost on Sunday makes it even worse.
The Jets lost 25-22 holding their opponents to only 247 yards, outgaining them by nearly 100 yards, and despite not turning the ball over in the game.
According to Football Perspective, that was the first time since 1940 an NFL team had lost a game in which they scored over 20 points, did not commit a turnover, and held their opponent to under 250 yards of offense.
The Jets scored 20+ points, committed 0 turnovers, and held their opponent to under 250 yards of offense.
From 1940 until yesterday, teams were 756-0 when they hit those three metrics.
But the Jets lost to New England today, 25-22.

Yes, teams had been 756-0 when they hit all three of those marks until the Jets somehow failed to win on Sunday.
How did the Jets blow it? They missed a 44-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Had that been made, the game should have at least gone to overtime.
Either way, it just does not appear to be the Jets’ year, despite their best efforts to compete.
