The Minnesota Vikings’ latest roster move signals a measure of uneasiness regarding the status of Sam Bradford.
The Vikings on Saturday promoted quarterback Kyle Sloter from the practice squad to the active roster. Sloter is the team’s third-string QB. He sits behind Case Keenum on the team’s depth chart.
There is concern surrounding Bradford, who underwent an MRI on his left knee during the week. The starter had ACL surgeries on the same knee in 2013 and 2014.
Given Bradford’s shaky status, Minnesota clearly wants to make sure they have plenty of QB options for their Week 2 game against Pittsburgh. The Vikings released Antone Exum to make room on the roster for Sloter.
Sloter was in camp with the Broncos during the preseason after going undrafted out of Northern Colorado.
