Will Levis has struggled through the first two games of the season, and some fans unfortunately had a direct line to the Tennessee Titans quarterback to express their frustrations over it.

Levis told reporters on Wednesday that he had to change his phone number because of text messages he was receiving from angry fans. The second-year QB said he is unsure of how his number leaked online, but he is “looking forward to having some privacy.”

“A thing I’m actually doing today is getting a new phone number. I don’t know how my number got out there to the fans, but I got a lot of texts,” Levis said. “So that’ll be nice to shut that part of life behind me. I haven’t opened social (media) in the last couple of weeks. So, yeah, I just think that’s the healthiest way to go about it.

“I don’t want to or care to see any things that people say about me and I’m just gonna keep chugging along regardless of what they say. It sucks that the world is the way that it is, and I’m looking forward to having some privacy.”

Levis made several costly mistakes in Tennessee’s first two games, which were both 24-17 losses. He already has three interceptions, and he lost a fumble on 3rd-and-goal in last week’s loss to the New York Jets. Television cameras even caught Titans coach Brian Callahan losing his cool with Levis on the sideline after that play.

Levis is not the first star athlete to have to change his phone number. While the former Kentucky star won’t hear directly from fans as much now, he will still face plenty of criticism if he cannot turn his play around.
