Kansas City Chiefs first-round pick Xavier Worthy has received a rather rude welcome to his new hometown.
The Chiefs confirmed that Worthy’s car was stolen overnight Wednesday from his apartment complex. A source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the car thieves appeared to be of the professional variety and “knew exactly what they were doing.”
Worthy had previously posted photos of himself with the car before it was stolen.

Fortunately, Worthy was unhurt, and there is no indication he was anywhere near the car when it was stolen. There is certainly a hint of irony to what happened considering how badly he wanted to land with the Chiefs. It may be an unpleasant thing to have to deal with, but police will presumably be investigating.
Worthy was drafted less than a month ago, with the Chiefs trading up to make him the No. 28 pick.
