Jim Nantz praised over handling of Grayson Murray news
Jim Nantz is receiving praise over the way he deftly handled the announcement of Grayson Murray’s death on Saturday.
Nantz was serving as CBS’ play-by-play announcer for the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial. He was tasked with revealing the news that Murray had died on Saturday, a day after withdrawing from the tournament.
The manner in which Nantz shared the news, including his tone and pacing, was viewed as classy and perfect.

Murray died at the age of 30. He had shot a 68 in the first round of the event on Thursday and then withdrew before the second round on Friday.
Murray won seven times as a pro, including the Sony Open earlier this year.
