A Brazilian synchronized diving team is breaking up over a number of problems, including a report that one member of the team sexiled the other the night before the finals of their event.
Brazilian website iG reported last week that the diving team of Ingrid Oliveira and Giovanna Pedroso was in conflict the night before Tuesday’s final. According to their report, Oliveira had canoeist Pedro Goncalves in their room for some fun and asked Pedroso to leave. She apparently slept elsewhere — the night before the finals — and later complained to officials.
The team ended up finishing in last in the 10m platform synchronized diving event with a score of 280.98, over 20 points behind the 7th place team and nearly 75 behind the gold medal-winning team that scored a 354.
The two have agreed that they will split up after the Olympics. They apparently entered the games in a conflict after they had a disagreement in training.
