Anthony Davis feeling better, may still miss opener
Anthony Davis is progressing in his rehab from a right ankle sprain, but it may not be enough to get him into the season opener.
The New Orleans Pelicans center said things are progressing well, but his status for the Oct. 26 regular season opener is still in serious doubt.
“It definitely sucks when you set a goal to play a full season,” Davis said Friday, via John Reid of NOLA.com. “We’ll see how it feels as each day goes on. I’m rehabbing, trying to get it back right.
“It’s steady improving every day and I’m trying to figure out what I can and cannot do and then go from there. When I feel ready and able to get back on the floor, I’ll be back on the floor. We’re constantly checking on it every day.”
Davis’s injury isn’t that significant, but it’s never a great sign to see the big man injured given his history. Needless to say, New Orleans will proceed with caution.
