Colts OL Mike McGlynn rips Lions for celebrating injury: ‘That’s why they lose’

Another weekend, another player infuriated with the Detroit Lions and Ndamukong Suh for not showing any class. During the Indianapolis Colts’ dramatic win over Detroit on Sunday, Suh knocked Indy right tackle Winston Justice to the ground following an interception in the fourth quarter. Justice was injured on the play, yet Suh and his teammates still celebrated.

Colts offensive guard Mike McGlynn would not say that the hit was dirty after the game, but that didn’t stop him from going off on the Lions for what he thought was a classless display.

“Totally ignorant on their part,” McGlynn said according to the Indianapolis Star. “Just childish stuff. We’re all battling out there; I don’t know if the hit was legal or not, but clearly he was hurt, and they’re out there dancing and pointing at him and laughing. Just blatant disrespect. They’re good players but there’s no room for that. It’s disgusting, really.

“If that had happened to one of their players, we’d never do something like that. But that’s what makes this even sweeter. That’s why they lose. I hope they never win another game.”

The hit and the celebrating came not long after Suh called his reputation as a dirty player unfair, but at this point it’s safe to say players around the league are tired of hearing it. Earlier in the season, Nate Burleson said the Lions need to get back to playing angry and not worrying about being the bad guys. Led by Suh and his infamous stomps and groin kicks, Detroit has gotten there.

The problem is that style of play has not made them a good team. Being called a dirty team has a lousy ring to it when you’re 4-8.
