MMA apparel company Americana MMA wants to see Ronda Rousey have her head handed to her so badly that they’re offering a $5,000 bonus to the fighter who knocks her out.
Americana MMA issued the offer after being incensed by Rousey’s recent negative comments about Cyborg Justino, whom Rousey called an “it.”
They posted the following to their Twitter and Facebook accounts after seeing Rousey’s comments:
I think the @ufc should suspend Ronda Rousey for her remarks about Cyborg. Don’t you have a code of conduct for your fighters?

Too many yes people around Ronda Rousey. Somebody needs to step in and tell her to grow up. Her recent statements against Cyborg are wrong.

Though I first thought that they were offering the money for publicity, my opinion has changed; they genuinely seem to be upset with Rousey and want to see her lose. They even said they declined an interview about the story.
But there is one twist; somehow the story was turned around and people began thinking Americana MMA offering a bounty to anyone who knocked out Rousey. They had to issue this clarification:
“I really can’t believe that some people are stupid enough to think that we placed a bounty on Ronda Rousey and that any random person can physically harm her to win $5K. Let’s make this clear for those of you that don’t understand. The offer was made for a professionally sanctioned fight between professional fighters; be it Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano or anybody else scheduled to fight her in the future. We don’t condone random acts of violence so put your bats away.”
Chalk this up as another victory for Miss Rousey. She knows how to play that villain/bad girl role to perfection. It’s natural for her. And she’s so darn good, I don’t think Americana will have to worry about handing out that prize money.
