David Beckham will be first male to appear solo on cover of ‘Elle Magazine’

Once again, David Beckham is set to make history. He won’t be doing so by becoming the first soccer player to ink a second $250 million deal with an MLS team, however. This time, Beckham is making magazine history. According to the Daily Mail, Beckham is set to become the first ever male to appear by himself on the cover of Elle Magazine.

For those who are unfamiliar with the publication, Elle is a women’s magazine based in the United Kingdom that focuses on women’s fashion, beauty, health, and entertainment. Men have appeared on the cover on rare occasions when accompanied by a female, but never has a man gone solo on the cover of Elle. Since the magazine caters to a female audience and females love looking at Becks, it makes sense that he would be the first.

Unlike the picture of Beckham that caused a controversy when it was distributed to thousands of schools and community centers across the U.K., he’s probably free to show as much as he wants on the cover of Elle. I doubt the magazine’s regular readers will complain.
