Howie Kendrick out for the season with ruptured Achilles
Howie Kendrick’s 2018 MLB season is over.
The Washington Nationals second baseman/left fielder suffered a ruptured Achilles’ tendon on Saturday. He is set to undergo surgery on Monday.
Kendrick suffered the injury when he was tracking down a fly ball at the warning track on Saturday against the Dodgers.

Kendrick said he didn’t even realize he had suffered the injury at first.
This will be a major setback for the aging player. The 34-year-old was batting .303 with four home runs and 12 RBIs this season with an .808 OPS and will be facing a lengthy and difficult recovery.
