American baseball fans might remember Tsuyoshi Shinjo for his three years spent in MLB from 2001-2003. Newer fans might now know him as the manager with the incredible entrance.
Shinjo is the manager of the Nippon-Ham Fighters in Japan. His team began the season 0-3 before heading home for Shinjo’s home managerial debut. And he made a grand entrance for the game on a hover bike.
You have to see this.

Shinjo was always known for his flamboyance as a player. He used to wear colorful bands and dye his hair. So this sort of introduction for him was right in line with his character.
And as an Angels fan, this is the most I’ve enjoyed a Shinjo appearance since Dusty Baker sent him to the plate for a pinch-hit at-bat with two on and one out in the top of the 9th of Game 7 of the 2002 World Series. Bless you, Shinjo.
